Megan Swasey Owner, Veterinarian
Dr. Swasey graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 and is currently working towards obtaining her Master of Public Health (MPH). She served in the Army for 4 years, with one deployment to the Middle East where she examined camels and falcons, supported military working dogs, and inspected a large dairy farm. She is proud to be a veteran and to have used her veterinary experience to serve animals and people.
Some of the most rewarding aspects of Dr. Swasey’s job include working with clients and patients in their time of need, building a strong, cohesive, resilient team, and helping her staff reach their fullest potential together. Starting Addison County Mobile Veterinary Services is her biggest accomplishment to date because it’s a reflection of everything she has done so far, and it will lead her into the next amazing chapters of her life.
At home, she has a cat named Leia, a puppy named Elle, and a clicker-trained rabbit named Roo. Along with sheep herding, Dr. Swasey enjoys horseback riding, training dogs, hiking, traveling, paddle boarding, and farming.
Our Staff
Peggy H. Practice Manager and Veterinary Nurse
Peggy received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maine, Orono in wildlife ecology and a concentration in conservation biology. She received veterinary technician training at the Hampden Veterinary Clinic in Maine. Peggy has been in veterinary medicine for 6+ years. While vet med was not her major in college, she has always had a passion for animals and felt it was important to give a voice to those who can’t speak for themselves. After moving to Vermont in 2022, she took a short break from vet medicine but after meeting Dr. Megan Swasey, decided to jump back in.
One of the most rewarding parts of her job is being able to provide essential, direct services to our patients and clients. She has a passion for lifelong learning and is always challenging herself to provide patients with the highest quality of care.
Peggy and her boyfriend, Oliver, share their lives with multiple pets: a Dalmatian named Tango Betty, and 3 cats named Kojak, Rusty, and Pika. In her free time, Peggy enjoys cooking, gardening, kayaking, seeing live music, watercolor painting, and spending time outside with her dog.
